There are wide variances of clarities. We only carry FL thru SI1. No visibly included stones make their way into our inventory. Our clients are always encouraged to understand the investment of Clarity. Always Eye Clean — clear to the naked eye. Nearly all diamonds have specific characteristics called inclusions. Most inclusions are too small to see with a naked eye.

Inclusions are nature’s little birthmarks and, when viewed under magnification, can be seen as tiny crystals, clouds or feathers. Schein diamonds are selected from top grades only. To determine a stone’s clarity grade a certified Gemologist will consider the size, number, location and color of these aforementioned characteristics.

With diamond coloring starting at D and running through Z, Schein selects diamonds from the highest range of the scale. Only D, E and F are selected for all of our jewelry. These are colorless diamonds, D being the whitest. When buying a diamond, it should be crisp white.

Diamonds are transparent, most having barely noticeable hints of color. The more colorless a stone, the more rare it is. Past the grade of Z, “fancy color” grading will apply. Fancy colored diamonds can be made available for viewing upon special request.

Schein Investments can source any size of stone you desire; from mele — under 0.10ct to your dream size 12.0ct plus. A diamond's size is measured in carats. Carats are commonly expressed in points, one carat equaling 100 points or 1/5 of a gram. The larger the diamond, the more rare it is.

Carat alone cannot express a stone’s value. Simply because a stone
is larger does not determine if it is of high quality. A special blend of Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat will determine the value and true beauty of a stone.
